As used in two seasons by Der Rekordmeister in which they won the Bundesliga in 1993-94 but finished 6th in 1994-95. In the second season they did reach the semi-finals of the Champions League. Notable players included Mehmet Scholl, Lothar Matthäus and Jean-Pierre Papin.
